Concerns raised for the safety of the Mars mission
Newly released images from Mars show a depression left by a giant flying insect.
The bug is more than 100 meter in size. Although there is so far no indication for a sting, the bee-like appearance has caused concern. The sting from such an insect could easily penetrate the Musk Mars dome.
It appears to be a burrowing insect and chemicals are being developed to sterilize the ground around the Habitat. Imidacloprid is the preferred chemical, as it has been shown to be effective against bees.
The bug is believed to be carnivorous, and member of the order of Asteroidea.
